Tiger Cub Achievements


Earn the Tiger Cub Totem

This is the first award the Tiger cub earns.
  1. Learn the Cub Scout Motto - Do Your Best
  2. Learn the Cub Scout Sign
  3. Learn the Cub Scout Salute


Achievement Beads

After earning the Tiger Totem, the scout works on their achievements. One bead is earned for each achievement and awarded at the den meetings.

F = Family Activity - White Beads
D = Den Activity - Orange Beads
G = Go-See-It - Black Beads
E = Electives - Yellow Discs (earned after Tiger badge)

1. Making My Family Special
1F – Complete a chore with partner
1D - Make a family scrapbook
1G - Library, historical society, museum, old farm, historical building, elderly person (how family life is same and differs from long ago)

2. Where I Live
2F – Look at a map of your community
2D - Practice the Pledge of Allegiance with your den, and participate in a den or pack flag ceremony
2G - Police station, fire station, (talk to workers to see how they help people in the community)

3. Keeping Myself Healthy and Safe
3F – Plan & practice fire drill & Develop a plan if you get lost
3D - Make a Food Guide Pyramid
3G - Learn rules to game or sport, then watch amateur or professional game or sport

4. How I Tell It
4F – Have family discussion at a meal
4D - Play "Tell It Like It Isn't"
4G - Visit TV station, radio station, or newspaper office (find out how people communicate to others)

5. Let’s Go Outdoors
5F – Go outside and watch the weather
5D - With a crayon or colored pencil and a piece of paper, make a leaf rubbing
5G - Take a hike with your den


Electives

After a scout has earned his Tiger badge (above achievements), he can earn yellow discs by completing 10 electives. Click for a list of all Tiger Electives



Bobcat Requirements

All scouts must earn the Bobcat badge before they can earn their rank badge.

1. Learn & Say Cub Scout Promise, and complete Character Connections
“I < name> promise to do my best
To do my duty to God and my country,
To help other people, and
To obey the Law of the Pack”

2. Say the Law of the Pack (and what it means)
“The Cub Scout follows Akela.
The Cub Scout helps the pack go.
The pack helps the Cub Scout grow.
The Cub Scout gives goodwill.”

3. Tell what Webelos means “WE’ll BE LOyal Scouts”
4. Show the Cub Scout sign (and what it means)
5. Show the Cub Scout handshake (and what it means)
6. Say the Cub Scout motto “Do Your Best”
7. Give the Cub Scout salute (and what it means)
8. Complete “A Bobcat Requirement” in front of handbook
